Nelle Tewllocks is the name and everything food is the game. Researching and learning about different foods from around the world and the different eras they originated from, is one of my favourite things to do (as well as feasting on all of these delights of course). And like all delicious things, they are made even more so by sharing them, so that’s what I decided to do.
Welcome to my kitchen and dinner table!
Just a little bit about myself.
Nothing is tastier or more comforting to me than a good curry, spooned into my awaiting mouth with a crunchy poppadum or pillowy piece of naan bread. For a treat I resort back to my childhood years of fresh white bread with a thick spreading of peanut butter (way too regularly). I love cooking and baking for my family and friends, and I annoy the nickers off them when I take ages to set up and photograph it before they are allowed to start eating.
Just a little run through of what I write about.
Foraging, cooking and eating are all central to how we socialise and move, moulding the cultures of the world. Looking at what people place on the dinner table is like reading their palm, it is such a great insight into their world and a fascinating way to explore history. There’s also nothing more exciting than discovering new ideas and recipes and trying them out and this is a great way to find them. I hope for this space become a treasure trove of these explorations, both yours and mine!
